Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, particularly in Japanese cuisine, and possess the ability to prepare high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers. This role requires a keen understanding of food safety practices and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
Duties
1. Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls, ensuring exceptional taste and presentation.
2. Assist in meal preparation by selecting and preparing fresh ingredients, including fish, vegetables, and rice.
3. Maintain an organised kitchen environment by ensuring all tools and equipment are clean and properly stored.
4. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food preparation.
5. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
6. Help train junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
7. Stay updated on current food trends and continuously seek ways to enhance menu offerings.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting.
2. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in Japanese cuisine.
3. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations is essential.
4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
5. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. A passion for culinary arts and a desire to create exceptional dining experiences for guests.
7. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Pay: £12.50-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 48 per week
