Head Chef - Retail Restaurant - £33,500 - Southampton - Work/Life Balance Do you want the buzz of a busy kitchen but not have to work evenings? If yes then this could be the role for you. We are looking for an experienced Head Chef or Kitchen Manager to join a retail unit based on the outskirts of Southampton, they serve fresh food, and they are looking for someone with a passion for hospitality to help with preparing, cooking and presenting food to a high standard This is a fast paced, retail café/restaurant operation with multiple stations to manage which can get very busy on most days. The bonus is there is no evening work but during your shift it will be manic so we need someone who can cope with high volume and bulk cooking made from fresh produce. You also need great managerial skills as you will be managing a large team. Key Information: Salary: £33,500 Hours: 38 hr contract. 2-week rolling rota/schedule, flexible working required - hours typically 7.5hr (weekday)/8hr shift(weekend), no late evenings, working alternate weekends Location: Southampton, own transport essential as on the outskirts of the city Contract: Permanent Head Chef Responsibilities: To ensure the food preparation and presentation meets the required standards. To keep all working areas clean and tidy To supervise and motivate the team when required. To comply with the health and safety and food safety legislations To monitor portion control, fresh food, and dry store orders Required skills include: A good understanding of produce and ingredients Experience in the kitchen and passion for hospitality Experience in a high volume café/restaurant is essential Embrace new ideas and processes.
