Hours of work: 48 hour per week
Salary: £14.50 per hour - working shifts, you must also be available to work weekends and bank holidays.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Supreme Guarding Services Ltd is an S.I.A Approved contractor which specialises in the provision of security solutions, facilities management & services, catering and properties management within the UK.
The role: Supreme is working with a national organisation highly regarded for their ability to provide high-quality care, support, and accommodation to vulnerable groups across the UK. We are looking for a “Hotel Head Chef” to manage the food preparation process and restaurant activities for a hotel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that food is up to standard for customers. Their duties include designing menus, managing the kitchen team, ensuring dishes meet quality standards, and managing restaurant activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will report to the Hotel Cluster Manager and will have a more hands-on role that will require you to take on duties that a Sous Chef would normally handle. In general, your main duties and responsibilities include:
* Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to the “Food Safety Management System' (FSMS) based on the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point).
* Stay up to date with culinary trends and kitchen processes, ensuring that the food provided in the hotel meets all the NHS Eatwell standards as well as responding to all service users’ cultural and dietary requirements.
* Deal with suppliers and ensure that they supply quality goods.
* Manage the inventory and ordering stock in line with the company process.
* Oversee the maintenance of kitchen equipment and organise repairs when needed.
* Staff training and development, handling staff issues, such as sick leave and attendance, and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
* Be involved in hiring and building your own kitchen team.
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations, working closely with the local authority food H & S representative, including maintaining equipment, training, guides, cleaning rotas, risk assessments, and records for audit purposes.
* Deal appropriately with guest comments and complaints if required, ensuring feedback is utilised constructively and communicated to the team.

Role Criteria
* A minimum of 1 years' experience working within a similar role.
* Extensive experience working in a high-volume restaurant.
* An extensive array of culinary skills and knowledge.
* Food Hygiene level 3 as a minimum.
* Experience managing and working with a diverse and experienced team.
* High standards for producing quality fresh food.
* Excellent leadership skills.
