Food focus is home made, fresh- pub food with a twist using the highest quality ingredients. Currently serving Sunday roasts and looking to expand to a full service restaurant Friday - Sunday with prep days from Wednesday, so a 5 day a week role. Head chef in place, were looking for a second in command who is passionate about food, flavours, and creating dishes with new flavours.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our restaurant. This position requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food preparation and safety. As a Sous Chef, you will help create an inspiring culinary experience for our guests while supervising kitchen staff and ensuring efficient food production.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and cooking techniques.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Help develop new menu items and contribute to creative culinary ideas.
* Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality before serving.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
* Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff rotations to optimise workflow.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Passion for cooking and creativity in menu development is highly desirable.
* Previous experience in supervising kitchen operations is an advantage.
