The post holder is responsible for ensuring the smooth service of patient food from delivery to service and maintaining high standards in food safety, in the catering department. The patient food service is critical to the health and recovery of the patients during their stay at North Manchester General Hospital and is a key post within the catering department of the hospital. As part of the wider duties the Kitchen Production Manger will also assist other managers in other areas within the Catering department as and when required.
To ensure the smooth running of patient food service at North Manchester General Hospital. Provide clear direction, ensuring the team is motivated. Create appropriate balance of knowledge, skills, and experience through on the job training and development. To make use of all available information to ensure all decisions follow the correct Trust directives, policies and procedures. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of business objectives, performance and associated computer software. Communicate confidently and effectively at all levels to share knowledge and ideas to drive business forward. Input, collate and analyse all SAFRON information, used to collect patient ordering information from the hospital wards. Undertake end of month stock takes and end of year stock take. Keep accurate and clear Food Safety Records (HACCP) whilst maintaining the highest standards of Food Safety. Manage deliveries, damages, and storage of all stock items. Actively participate in the recruitment, training, disciplining and welfare of staff in accordance with Trust’s Corporate Policies. Maintain an awareness of appropriate professional and educational establishments and attend training courses and workshops where relevant to the post
