The overview:
* £16 an hour (£33,280)
* 40 hours a week
* 1 weekend out of 2 off
* Latest finish time 6pm
* 7/8am starts can be flexible
* 5 days out of 7

Responsibilities:
* Menu Planning: Develop diverse, well-balanced menus that cater to the dietary requirements and preferences of our residents, including options for different dietary restrictions (e.g., diabetic, low sodium, vegetarian).
* Texture-Modified Foods: Prepare texture-modified meals (pureed, minced, and easy-to-chew options) for residents with specific swallowing or chewing difficulties, ensuring that each dish is both nutritious and visually appealing.
* Meal Preparation: Oversee daily meal preparation, ensuring meals are nutritious, beautifully presented, and delivered on time.
* Leadership: Lead and mentor a kitchen team, fostering a positive and organized environment.
* Quality Control: Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and hygiene, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Budget Management: Manage food ordering and stock control within budget guidelines, reducing waste where possible.
* Resident Engagement: Work closely with the care home team to understand and accommodate individual resident needs and preferences.
Requirements:
* Experience: Proven experience as a chef, ideally in a care home, healthcare, or similar setting.
* Skills: Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Experience with texture-modified diets is highly desirable.
* Compassion: A genuine interest in working with older adults and a commitment to making a positive impact on their daily lives.
