The Role
We wish to recruit an enthusiastic and excellent teacher to cover our current Head of Drama who is expected to begin maternity leave in April 2025.
We are seeking somebody who has experience of teaching GCSE Drama or an equivalent qualification in the last three years. We would consider applications for teachers who are not yet ready to take on a leadership role.

* If the successful candidate is suitable to cover the HOD responsibilities, they will be remunerated by a TLR2C payment (equivalent to £3,391 per year)
Applicants must be able to demonstrate 'outstanding practice' in their own teaching.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* To follow any current and applicable School Policies under the direction of the Head Teacher.
* To respond to the needs of the school, with particular reference to the teaching of groups and classes within the school, as deemed necessary by the Head Teacher in accordance with STPCD.
* To be a Tutor to an assigned Tutor Group if required, and to carry out related duties in accordance with the general job description of Tutor.
We're looking for you if you have:
* Qualified Teacher Status.
* Teaching within the subject area in Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Knowledge of the National Curriculum for their subject.
* Willingness to keep up to date in subject knowledge and national developments.

Information about the School
The Thomas Lord Audley School is a high performing, over-subscribed 11-16 comprehensive school with just under 800 students (capacity 840), situated to the south of Colchester. It is the "most improved school in Essex" (Essex LA September 2016). It serves a diverse catchment area including Old Heath, Monkwick, Shrub End and the villages to the south of Colchester including the community of Mersea Island.
