We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead to join the team and provide the necessary leadership and support within the team whilst also having the skills to get hands-on with BI development processes, including Power BI, RPA, and SharePoint.
This is a perfect opportunity to get involved and help provide cutting-edge Business Intelligence and digital enabling technologies to the Trust.
The team are currently working in a hybrid fashion with opportunities to work at our Wirral site, Spine office in Liverpool, and also work from home (with a minimum of three days onsite per week).
Main duties of the job
The Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead is responsible for the development and delivery of the Trust's chosen Business Intelligence and dashboard reporting solution.
The Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead will support the Business Intelligence Manager with the delivery of a self-service approach to information. They will be responsible for the development of reports and dashboards and support the management of the Trust's data warehouse. This will include training end users on the self-service portal.
The Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead will manage a small team of developers (BI, Robotic Process Automation, and SharePoint) to prioritise competing and challenging work streams to help the BI team and wider Trust deliver analytical and automated processing goals.
You will work with the wider business intelligence team to embed development and automation within the analysts' daily life. This will involve advising the analysts in the full development life cycle from requirement stages through to implementation. The Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead will be key in the delivery of a Business Intelligence Service by providing high quality, accurate, and timely intelligence to meet the Trust's business, clinical, and operational planning needs and supports the strategic objectives of the Trust.

Qualifications
Essential
* Degree level qualification in a relevant technical discipline or relevant equivalent experience, supported by specialist training and relevant study.
* Evidence of relevant continued professional development in specialist informatics area.
Desirable
* Membership of a relevant Fed-IP recognised professional body is desirable (BCS, SOCITM, IHRIM, CILIP, AphA).
* Informatics related courses and qualifications.
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
* Thorough understanding of NHS performance targets and timescales.
* Experience and advanced knowledge in the use of SQL Server (including SSIS and SSRS).
* Experience of MS SharePoint platform.
* Experience or understanding of Robotic Process Automation.
* Proficient use of T-SQL.
* Highly developed knowledge in Microsoft Office skills and MS operating systems.
* Understanding of Business Intelligence dashboard/reporting, and design.
