Job Title: SENIOR SALES EXECUTIVE – TIMBER
Job Description:
Due to internal promotion, our client is seeking a Senior Sales Executive. Ideally, you would be experienced in selling Timber / Timber Products or have worked in the Builders / Timber Merchant sector. It would also be an advantage to have a good understanding of the construction sector. This position is for an experienced individual that has the ability to establish and build relationships at both site and buyer level.
Reporting to: MANAGING DIRECTOR
The company has been a trusted supply chain partner in the UK construction industry for over 50 years. Working along with the sales team, you will be promoting the company's Timber & Timber Products to exciting sectors, including Timber Engineering Companies, Builders & Timber Merchants.
Key Responsibilities as Senior Sales Executive:
1. To develop both new and existing clients.
2. Negotiate purchasing prices with suppliers.
3. Quoting and costing customer requirements.
4. Understanding customer needs and requirements, researching accounts, and identifying key players.
5. Maintain and expand your database.
6. Seeking out active sites and making the necessary contacts to win enquiries and ultimately the business.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required as Senior Sales Executive:
1. Proven experience in a sales or sales administration role.
2. Experience within the building supply trade is essential.
3. General construction knowledge is essential, along with knowledge of the construction sector.
4. Self-motivated with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
5. Confident and professional telephone manner.
6. Effective communication skills.
7. Customer-focused with sound commercial skills.
8. Good IT skills, PC literate, and experience with Microsoft Outlook.
