Sous Chef Position at Buckley Barracks, Hullavington
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Buckley Barracks, Hullavington.
Responsibilities:
* Assume overall responsibility for the operation of the Kitchen and its staff in the absence of the Head Chef.
* Ensure that all kitchen staff prepare and present high-quality food and that all final products meet the Company Standard.
* Maintain and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
* Manage kitchen inventory, maintain stock levels, and implement cost-saving measures as necessary.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan menus, create new recipes, and improve existing ones.
* Develop and implement effective systems for controlling kitchen costs, including labor and supply management.
* Coach and mentor junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent experience in Culinary Arts.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced military environment.
* Proven track record of maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Salary: £14.52 per hour.
* Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7.
