We have a great opportunity for a Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to successfully implement our learning and education programmes, ensuring UPP has a capable and well-trained workforce to help ensure we deliver our operational, statutory, and professional performance targets. Operating as the L&D centre of excellence, this role will work with key stakeholders across operational and corporate functions, supporting our approach to creating a learning culture and enabling our people to drive their own development through a variety of blended learning solutions. This is a standalone role with exposure to a wide range of L&D activities and will involve identifying learning needs across the business, designing and implementing solutions and evaluating the impact of these. It’ll involve working with key stakeholders to manage our technical and statutory training provision, behavioural skills training, leadership and management development programmes while supporting our wider People Plan objectives and our commitments to demonstrate Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in all that we do. Role Responsibilities include: Coordinate key training programmes, scheduling training sessions, communicating with delegates and external providers, managing feedback surveys and keeping line managers updated on progress. Liaise with stakeholders to establish current and future learning objectives and new training requirements, carrying out training needs analysis activity, to include (but not limited to) assessment of technical skill requirements and management development opportunities. Identify Apprenticeship opportunities and suitable providers and manage the Apprentice Levy account. Support with content creation for training modules, working with the HR Business Partnering team, SMEs and stakeholders to review and deliver content in line with role requirements and relevant legislation. Focus for this year will include attendance management, cleaning and customer services standards. Enhance the UPP Academy concept and brand, creating a framework for learning that is fit for purpose and well utilised across the business. Work with our Marketing team to plan, write and edit content to contribute to our internal communications platforms, promoting the learning and development agenda. Develop and maintain the Training Toolkit that aims to empower local teams to create learning and development plans and navigate the training request process, supporting with any queries around training opportunities. Maintain the Corporate Induction programme, ensuring it remains relevant, engaging and is delivered to a high-quality standard. The role is based in our award-winning London office with occasional travel to our operational sites across the country, which may include an overnight stay from time to time. Our hybrid working policy enables a good balance between working from home and the office. We can consider this position on reduced hours (30 hours per week) or full-time basis. We are looking for a proactive, passionate and creative Learning and Development professional with: End-to-end experience in identifying, designing, implementing and evaluating learning programmes/interventions to meet the current needs of the business. Effective communication skills and ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders at different levels. Ability to draw on previous experience to offer appropriate guidance and make informed decisions. Experience of utilising and managing suppliers effectively. Agility and autonomy in role to manage and drive multiple projects through to successful completion. Competent level of proficiency in the Microsoft suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS). You will be hands-on and work collaboratively with the wider HR Team and business to further support training needs, business goals, culture change and compliance. Experience of working within facilities management, the built environment and / or technical and statutory environments will be an advantage for this role.
