The Position
We are currently recruiting for an ambitious Junior Sous Chef to join our senior kitchen team within our private members club.
The starting base salary for this position is from £38,000 -£42,000 dependent on experience. All gratuities & service charges plus other benefits & rewards are paid in addition to the base salary.

The Role
To support the Head chef & Senior Sous chef in the day to day running of the Pittormie kitchen throughout all food operations, ongoing development of food strategy and controlling food costs and budgets. Consistently delivering and exceeding the customer expectations. Keeping in close communication the head chef, kitchen team and the front of house team.
Experience
The successful applicant will have experience in a similar role within a Michelin / 5 Red Star / 3 AA rosette level.
As a quality driven chef with an eye for detail, you should be looking to continuously progress not only within our team but personally with food knowledge and technical skill. Whilst employing good communication skills and always being one step ahead, you should be organised and highly motivated with a can do attitude.

Contribution
The Junior Sous Chef s day to day tasks include:
Constantly looking at ways of improving practices throughout the kitchen and food service with research, training and development.
Investigating alternative suppliers in order to improve the quality of raw product and price structuring.
To assist in training and supporting the kitchen team in order to exceed customer expectations.
Liaise with the kitchen and front of house teams to ensure all operational and associated production areas are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with company guidelines and legislative requirements.
Ensuring all food deliveries and food produced is constantly to the highest standard, seasonal and within agreed pricing structure.
Daily checks on food costs to keep the team within budget.
Control stock levels to eliminate over and under stocking.
Check all fridges and produce daily to maintain the highest possible quality.
Monitor buying through to production and running costs to eliminate wastage and maximise profit.
Be competent in online ordering to assist with quality and daily prices.
Have the ability to conduct daily briefings and debriefs with restaurant and assistant restaurant manager to discuss any areas requiring attention for continual development.
