As a Data Engineer, you will oversee and be responsible for developing, implementing, reviewing, and establishing data and techniques used in the Advanced Data Analytics Portfolio (DAP). You will collaborate with project managers, data scientists, counter fraud experts, stakeholders, and senior management across NHSCFA and our wider partners. Your primary responsibilities include developing, evaluating, maintaining, and managing data pipelines, processing and preparing data for analysis, and developing data models. You will also support the design of analytical services, products, and models that meet NHSCFA’s needs.
The post holder must have an NPPV3 clearance.
This is a Fixed Term contract until 31st March 2026.

Our new team is embarking on a project to monitor data to identify and respond to patterns indicative of potential fraud. This work supports our efforts to reduce the likelihood of fraud, utilizing data science capabilities, advanced analytics, and machine learning to address high-risk areas and protect public funds for patient care.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Developing and maintaining robust, efficient, secure, and reliable data pipelines using Azure technologies such as Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Lakehouses.
2. Building data pipelines that clean, transform, and present data from various sources.
3. Designing, building, testing, automating, and maintaining scalable architectures and workflows for analytics and BI systems.
4. Planning, developing, and evaluating methods for data extraction, transformation, and cleaning.
5. Developing the data warehouse, including design, technical development, and documentation, working with NHSCFA specialists and external data sources.
