Job Overview
Rhug Estate is looking for a head chef to join the team and be part of the newly reopened Café Rhug. We are looking for someone with a real passion and knowledge about good food to implement, manage, and oversee the customer menu. One of the benefits of this role is that it is daytime hours only, apart from the odd evening event throughout the year. Typical hours range between 8am and 5pm, 5 days a week, with weekends rota’d on a fair basis across the team.
Responsibilities
1. Overseeing the running of the kitchen
2. Implementing a small but high-quality menu
3. Managing costings and margins
4. Staff rotas, stock, and ordering management
5. Staff training
6. Working closely with the general manager and front of house supervisors
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:
1. Previous experience working with food
2. Knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene training
3. Ability to work well under pressure
4. Good presentation skills
5. Understanding of the importance of good quality ingredients
