Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welding Training Manager to join our technical team. You will have the opportunity to develop people, pass on your knowledge and invest in the future of this great profession.
Main responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the development and implementation of training programs, as well as helping to develop the facilities and framework for the training centre.
* Assessing necessary skills of new and current welding members of staff
* Identifying and assessing training needs for the welding team
* Implementing various training methods to enhance employees' skills and performance
* Creating and delivering training sessions and lectures to trainees both practical and theory-based
* Monitoring training program effectiveness
* Managing budgets
Preferred Skills / Experience
* Full driving license
* 10 years' experience as a welder fabricator, with experience as a trainer running a training school/centre
* Proficient in the use of hand tools and sheet metal fabrication
* Competent in welding processes MIG, MAG, TIG and MMA to ISO 9606-1 and ISO 9606-2
* Rail experience and knowledge of BE EN 15085 would be an advantage
* Ability to train and encourage trainees to develop skills they already possess
* Organised, with a high level of attention to detail ensuring all paperwork is completed in accordance with standards and company practises
* Competent in using Word and Excel
* Ability to problem-solve
