Responsibilities within your new role as the Junior Sous Chef
You will support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily management of the kitchen, helping supervise and train kitchen staff, assist in food preparation, and ensure that dishes are consistently prepared to the highest standards. As the Junior Sous Chef, you'll be responsible for managing specific sections of the kitchen, handling inventory, and stepping in to oversee operations during busy times.
Your experience, qualifications and personality
To succeed in this role as the Junior Sous Chef, you should have experience in a multi-rosette venue and a passion for using quality ingredients while delivering exceptional service. A solid understanding of modern cooking styles, a desire to advance your career, and a creative mindset are key. You'll need to assist kitchen management in overseeing the kitchen brigade and be capable of managing multiple sections comfortably, even in a high-pressure environment.
