Senior Data Engineer Salary up to £65,000 p.a. (dependent on experience) excellent benefits. Job Purpose: Design, build, and maintain robust data infrastructure and pipelines, ensuring efficient data collection, transformation, and delivery to support data-driven decision making. Working location: The role is based in the Milton Keynes office and can be fulfilled via a hybrid arrangement of time in the office and working from home. Currently we expect a minimum 2 days each week in the office. Key Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the role are set out below: Design and implement scalable and robust data pipelines and platforms to support high-level reporting and operational requirements. Experience in Data Warehousing practices, particularly using SQL, DataBricks/SnowFlake, and Azure Data Factory (ADF). Design and implement modern ETL processes, ensuring seamless data flow and integration across platforms. Recommending data governance policies and procedures to manage the data lifecycle, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and best practices. Optimize data retrieval and processing speeds to enhance user interactions with data-driven applications and reports. Develop and build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders. Support the wider business initiatives for growth. Ensure regular and clear communications (written/verbal) within SIS Development, business customers and other project stakeholders at all seniority levels. Maintain a cohesive team relationship and manage discipline when needed. Ensure regular coaching of junior resources in the team and help in their capability development. Skills and Experience: Demonstrable experience in data engineering, with a focus on building scalable and high-performance data infrastructures. Azure Tech Stack Experience including SQL Server, Elastic Pool, SSRS, Azure Data Factory is preferred. Experience of working with technology like SnowFlake, DataBricks, etc. Demonstrated capability in performing complex data transformations within data pipelines. Experience of building high performant and resilient data integration systems. Experience of working with Power BI and building reports. Experience of mentoring junior resources in the team and reviewing their technical work. Effective stakeholder management. Ability to influence others to achieve a common goal. Experience of working in the enterprise environment with dozens of interdependent software systems. Experience of implementing in an Agile development ecosystem. Clear understanding of continuous software delivery lifecycle.
