Castle Employment Group is partnering with an independent hotel on the North Yorkshire East Coast to strengthen their kitchen team. We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to support the Head Chef and the team in delivering exceptional food across lunch and dinner services.

What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have experience working with fresh, high-quality ingredients and be comfortable with high-volume service, as the restaurant caters to both hotel guests and the public. You’ll assist the Head Chef with menu development, staff training, and will act as a key link between the front-of-house and kitchen teams, making strong interpersonal skills essential.
This role is ideal for candidates based in Scarborough, Bridlington, Driffield, or Filey. Please note that due to the location, access to your own transport is essential as there is no accommodation available on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the production, monitoring, and maintenance of consistent food standards across all areas.
* Work across all sections of the kitchen, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
* Participate in HACCP procedures in line with the company’s Food Safety Management protocols, maintaining KRB documentation, cleaning rotas, and closing procedures.
* Purchase food and related products from company-nominated suppliers.
* Ensure proper stock rotation and use-by dates are followed to minimize waste.
Requirements:
* Experience in a restaurant or hotel setting.
* NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications.
* Confident working on your own section as well as part of a team.
* Stock management experience.
* Excellent communication skills.
