This role is integral for those with expertise in Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), as it will involve designing and implementing robust data solutions that support the local government's key services. This position offers the flexibility to work fully remotely or in a hybrid arrangement. As the Senior Data Engineer, you will focus on using Microsoft Fabric to enable seamless data integration and analysis from various case management systems, building medallion architectures, and leveraging data for finance and operational insights within Dynamics F&O. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver efficient data solutions that drive critical insights for departments, including social care and revenue services. Key Responsibilities: Data Integration with Microsoft Fabric: Extract, cleanse, and transform data from multiple systems into Microsoft Fabric, building scalable and optimised medallion architectures for effective data use. Dynamics F&O Reporting: Implement data flows and reporting structures that leverage Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for financial and operational insights, particularly in areas of local government finance and service delivery. Data Pipeline Development and Management: Design and maintain data pipelines tailored to reporting and analytics needs, ensuring seamless data flow across platforms. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements specific to financial and operational reporting, delivering actionable insights that align with organisational needs. CI/CD and Source Control: Implement continuous integration and deployment practices within Microsoft DevOps, managing source control to ensure efficient and reliable data processes. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor data pipelines, identifying and resolving issues to ensure consistent data availability and accuracy. Documentation: Produce clear documentation for data processes and workflows to support knowledge sharing and continuity within the team. Essential Skills and Experience: Expertise in Microsoft Fabric: Strong background in Microsoft Fabric for data extraction, transformation, and building medallion architectures to support complex data models and reporting. Experience with Dynamics 365 F&O (Finance & Operations): Proficiency in configuring and managing data flows and reporting within Dynamics F&O, specifically in financial and operational contexts. Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience in data integration tools, data modelling, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Collaboration and Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, especially in gathering requirements for finance and operations data solutions.
