Fixed-Term Contract - Sous Chef, Crowborough
Working within a key team here at Horder Healthcare, we have an exciting, fixed-term opportunity for a creative and passionate Sous Chef to join our experienced catering team. Assisting the Corporate Catering Manager and Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, leading the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring that the food is prepared and served to a high standard, as well as assisting with menu planning and preparation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their career within a professional and rewarding environment.
Based at The Horder Centre, Crowborough, this is a full-time, temporary role, working on a Monday to Sunday shift basis, 5 days out of 7.
This role will be covering a 6-month period.
About you:
1. City & Guilds 706 Level 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent C.I.E.H. Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
2. Prior experience within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
3. Excellent communication skills to build respectful relationships with patients and colleagues.
4. Exposure to menu planning, with a keen interest in current food and dietary trends.
5. Proactive and forward-thinking, with a passion for continued learning.
6. A working ethic aligned with our core values: Caring, Friendly, Quality, Integrity, and Pride.
