Overview of Role: The successful candidate will take the reins of the kitchen, managing all aspects of food preparation, menu development, and kitchen staff. You will work closely with the management team to ensure we continue to offer a memorable dining experience to our members and guests. As Head Chef, you will be expected to uphold the club's standards of excellence, lead by example, and create an inviting environment for both team members and customers. Key Responsibilities: Menu Development: Design and implement innovative and seasonal menus for bar food and event options, including buffets and special functions. Food Preparation: Oversee all food items' preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and high standards. Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment. Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation, ensuring club standards and health regulations prepare all dishes. Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste and control costs. Budget Management: Develop and manage the kitchen budget, including food cost analysis and financial reporting. Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, including HACCP and sanitation standards. Customer Engagement: Interact with members and guests to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction with the dining experience. Event Catering: Plan and execute catering for club events, private functions, and special occasions, delivering bespoke dining experiences. About You: Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, ideally in a club, hotel, or similar environment. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. A good understanding of health and safety regulations in the kitchen. Be independently mobile and within a 30-minute drive time of West Clandon. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
