Job Description A critical position in the Global Training & Development Department’s ability to deliver a successful service worldwide. The role holder is part of the Global Training & Development’s Leadership Team and will be positioned within the Online Learning Pillar of Excellence. This role holder will be a proficient Digital Training Manager leading the delivery of digital training solutions such as for example Sales, Leadership, Safety, SES and Service Academy as well as non-product tools such as SAP or ADP. The role will also act in a supporting function for the implementation of commercial online training solutions, supporting the Principal Product Digital Training Consultant. In addition to this, the role holder will support the improvement of all training for all Global Smiths Academies. The incumbent will collaborate with a complex breadth of global stakeholders and will have regular contact with our internal customer groups. The role holder will need to support the delivery of the Global Training Strategy and incorporate this into the work they do. This may require a significant amount of global travel to support ongoing Stakeholder engagement. The role holder will manage a team of Digital Training Consultants and Digital Learning Designers and be proficient in their own technical skills demonstrating an ability to operate independently creating and delivering learning solutions from concept through to quality assurance. Due to the extensive experience of the post holder, the incumbent will also provide support more broadly by coaching and mentoring more junior members of the Digital Training Team. The role holder will work closely with the Training Operations team and Marketing / Communications team supporting them to make informed decisions on how best to communicate our digital training capabilities to meet our L&D needs to ensure the Global Training Department supports the business strategic and financial objectives. Management Duties: Management of Digital Training Consultants who are responsible for digital training solutions and of Digital Learning Designers who are supporting the implementation of L&D commercial digital training solutions Task Management of L&D Digital Training Consultants to manage tasks and projects effectively Demonstrate early career stage leadership skills, working with the Global Training Director and the SMT to deliver the Training Strategy and lead on workstream activity that enables the team to meet the Director’s targets Conducting staff appraisals and annual target agreement and evaluation Personal and professional development of their team Provides progress updates to the Senior Manager Training Consultancy that informs them of their own tasking levels, any risks and issues that require escalation and submits constructive suggestions for solving occurring problems Can manage changing, and sometimes conflicting priorities to establish clear workstreams within the team Digital Training Duties: Strategic focus and conceptual development of training academies such as a Sales, SES, Safety and Service Academy or other training initiatives Implementing quality assurance processes in the workplace Development and continuous optimisation of process flows for the efficient and effective organisation of training for digital training offers Monitor the market for methods, processes and tools to increase the effectiveness of the department’s Digital Training pillar Project management responsibility for content-specific and multi department projects (e.g. improving the learning management platform) Lead multi-level 'blended' training sessions using different training formats such as web training/webinars, e-learning and classroom training for internal staff and external partners worldwide Strategic development of the Learning Management System in cooperation with other stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Service, SES, etc) Proactive collaboration with Sales, Service, SES, Safety and DTT Training Delivery and Training Operations to create synergies Implement and monitor cyclical feedback from learners on digital training opportunities and initiate appropriate action Instruct and monitor all processes relevant to Digital Training Providing advice to subject matter experts when they support with concepts for digital training material Target group-oriented development of training content for complex topics (e.g., within the framework of webinars and e-learning or face-to-face training) in close cooperation with the responsible departments (e.g., Sales, SES, Safety or Leadership teams) Content research for digital training modules Independent development and design of e-learning modules based on the previously researched content (compiling content, didactic preparation of content, fine-tuning conception, coordination with subject experts, script writing and final implementation in the authoring tool (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate) Design interactive online trainings and webinars Coordinate expert speakers and, if required, external partners, consultants and training providers. Provide training materials in webinar or e-learning specific formats Moderate and facilitate webinars in multi-level complex training units with different levels of interaction as well as learning target checks of the participants - in multiple languages suing translation as required Evaluate, analyse and comment on test results and attendance statistics of webinars and e-learning trainings informing the Operations quarterly report Support with the development of marketing material for the department General Department: A critical internal senior stakeholder customer facing leadership position, which will collaborate with a complex breadth of global stakeholders both internal and external. They will need to support the delivery of the Global Training Strategy and incorporate this into innovative training delivery recommendations which optimise training solutions, enhancing performance of our staff Demonstrate understanding and application of academic quality research skills, working with the SMT to deliver the Training Strategy and lead on Workstream activity that enables the team to meet the Director’s targets Establish and maintain a close relationship with Safety Directors, SES teams, country Sales & Service managers and regional Sales & Service leads in order to support the needs of the customer and business while remaining aware of current technical trends Recruit, supervise and orchestrate training and development of staff Contribute to the Continuous Improvement Programme (CI) Develop and build upon relationships with other functional disciplines within the company Work across functions to ensure business is transacted accurately and within guidelines to the highest ethical standards Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies
