About the role:
Hale Country Club & Spa is recruiting for a full-time Junior Sous Chef to join our team. We are looking for talented individuals with a passion for creating delicious food from freshly cooked ingredients, ready to deliver exceptional service and enhance the dining experience for our esteemed members and guests.
Responsibilities:
* Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance.
* Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organisation, staff ability, and training opportunities.
* Leads kitchen team in head chef’s absence.
* Adheres to health & safety policies.
* Invents new & innovative menu ideas.
* Ensures cleanliness standards are maintained.
* Manages a clean and efficient kitchen department.
* Plans the day-to-day running of all sections of the kitchen effectively to meet service standards.
* Produces food on time, consistently and accurately.
* Manages rotas in accordance with business levels.
* Follows recipes and presentation specifications.
* Maintains a clean, safe working environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment in a similar role.
* Ability to track expenses and manage a budget.
* Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.
* Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
* Knowledge of best cooking practices and understanding of trends and new styles.
* Attention to detail and high standards of presentation, creative flair, and imagination.
* Experience working in a diverse environment.
* Great attitude towards work & colleagues.
* Desire to learn new skills & passion for food.
