Sous Chef £35K basic plus 5K tips Outskirts of Chelmsford This beautiful Gastro Pub, just outside of Chelmsford has plenty of charm & character, is a local favourite of many. They require a Sous Chef who is capable of producing high quality meals using fresh ingredients, under pressure. This pub creates a variety of traditional and modern dishes, has an a la carte menu as well as offering chalkboard specials, and serves around 300 covers for lunch and dinner. As Sous Chef you will be responsible for assisting in the efficient running of the kitchen & maintaining consistently high standards. You will also work with the Head Chef in menu development and daily specials. Ideally you will be at either Senior CDP or Junior Sous Chef level with good experience in a high-volume quality kitchen. You must be flexible to work on all sections as required and have the ability to train junior chefs on each section. As Sous Chef you will work closely with the Head, you must have good kitchen management skills and be committed to providing a high level of cuisine and service at all times. Prior experience in a similar environment is highly desirable. The ideal Junior Sous Chef will: Have a real passion for high level cuisine and fantastic food presentation. Have prior experience in a similar style establishment Be able to work in a team, use your own initiative. Be innovative with concepts and ideas. Have knowledge of menu completion, stock control and Rotas.
