During the Baker Hughes FPS Apprenticeship 4-year program, the successful candidate will attend college to achieve a level 3 engineering apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
1. First year you will be 1 full academic year based at College
2. Second / third year will be based at Baker Hughes Walker Riverside full time, with 1 day/week day release at College.
As a Product Development and Testing Apprentice, you will be responsible for:
3. Assisting the test team in activities including testing and qualification of new materials / products, supporting the test facility for all technical associated tasks.
4. Supporting mechanical assembly and disassembly.
5. Supporting electrical fault finding.
6. Supporting control systems operating.
7. Producing drawings using CAD.
8. Giving innovative ideas and capture.
9. Participating in problem solving.
10. Carrying out mechanical assembly.

To be successful in this role you will:
11. Be in possession of the following -
GCSE Math’s, Science, English grade 4 or above
Currently studying / training for additional engineering or academic qualifications.
12. Have a genuine enthusiasm for Engineering.
13. Have great communication skills and has the confidence to ask questions.
14. Be able to share learning knowledge and experiences will colleagues and other apprentices.
15. Have pride in doing your best, even in testing conditions.
16. Have a real desire to learn and improve your knowledge and skills.
