Our mobile apps are used by audiences in their millions every week who rely on the BBC to provide accurate and impartial news, current affairs, and factual programming. We provide content to the highest editorial standards and offer a range and depth of analysis not widely available from other United Kingdom news providers. We're looking for a talented and passionate Senior Tester to join the team within the News, Sport & Weather Mobile (Apps) group focusing on technical transformation. Whether it's building shared libraries to bring our codebases closer together or introducing new technologies and patterns to our projects, the Enablement team collaborates with our feature-oriented News, Sport & Weather Mobile teams to align new features with our technical strategy. Main Responsibilities As a Senior Tester within the News, Sport & Weather Mobile (Apps) team, you will have a role in shaping, refining and delivering the strategic and operational testing strategy. You will be engaged in all aspects of the SDLC, including architecture, design, tests, development, and delivery. As a quality advocate, you will be reviewing new projects, writing test plans and working with our stakeholders to understand the impact. Senior Testers at the BBC also have a great part to play in the development of our Testers and Junior Testers. We would look for you to be an active participant in fostering a learning culture throughout the organisation through active dissemination of knowledge, coaching, mentoring and inspiring other members of our teams both in the News, Sport & Weather Mobile (Apps) space and in the wider mobile apps group at the BBC (this includes teams within iPlayer, Sounds and Bitesize). We're looking for people who are passionate about software quality, enjoy thinking outside the box and want to work in a high-performing team whose work is seen and enjoyed by millions.
