Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love for performance and creativity.

Prepare students for GCSE Drama, supporting their practical and theoretical understanding of the subject.
*
Develop students' confidence, communication, and teamwork skills through innovative and interactive teaching methods.
*
Organize and direct school productions, drama clubs, and extracurricular activities, encouraging student participation in performing arts.
*
Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and personal growth.
*
Foster an inclusive and inspiring learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
*
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Performing Arts department to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
*
Maintain high expectations of student behavior and engagement, in line with the school’s policies.
Person Specification
Essential:
*
A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
*
Experience teaching Drama at secondary level, ideally including GCSE.
*
A passion for theatre and performance, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
*
Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to student success.
*
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
Desirable:

Experience directing school productions or drama clubs.
*
Knowledge of different theatre styles, practitioners, and performance techniques.
*
Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
*
Willingness to contribute to whole-school events and performing arts initiatives.
