The People Training Manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and talent development across their region. Working closely with multiple stakeholders, they bring expertise to the training strategy and execute development initiatives that enhance restaurant performance through targeted learning.
An inspiring leader and skilled communicator, they ensure training is engaging, adaptable to all learning styles, and delivered at a high standard. This role is responsible for identifying, designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that equip colleagues and management with the operational and leadership skills needed to succeed. They support a robust remodel and new restaurant opening program, ensuring training is consistent and delivers measurable business impact.
With a keen eye for talent, the People Training Manager plays a crucial role in developing and accelerating regional talent pipelines, identifying future leaders and supporting career progression.
Commercially focused, they collaborate with Operations stakeholders to empower managers to "Run it like you own it" and "Sell, Sell, Sell," ensuring training drives both business performance and a customer-first mindset.
Responsibilities:
* Regional Training Management: Oversee and drive training completions across the region, ensuring high participation and compliance.
* Team Development: Upskill and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
* Talent Coaching: Identify, coach, and develop high-potential talent to strengthen the regional talent pipeline, including development of future Certified Restaurant Trainers (CRTs).
* Training Point of Contact: Serve as the key Regional Operations Manager (ROM) liaison for all training-related matters.
* Programme Delivery: Lead and facilitate regional training sessions to support the ‘Ignite’ development programme.
* Operational Training Support: Ensure the delivery of mandated RBI training, including ‘The King’s Journey,’ to maintain operational excellence.
* New Restaurant Openings & Remodels: Oversee and coordinate training for restaurant teams to ensure a smooth and successful launch.
* New Product Rollouts: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and execute engaging training for product launches (e.g. Whopper Relaunch, GKs Virtual Brand).
* Training Design & Facilitation: Scope, design, and deliver impactful development sessions and coaching in both virtual and face-to-face formats.
* Performance Improvement: Work closely with Regional Managers and Certified Restaurant Trainers to analyse KPIs, identify trends, and implement training initiatives to improve performance.
* Post-Training Follow-Up: Conduct follow-ups to measure training impact, refine learning strategies, and continuously enhance development offerings.
* Talent Pipeline Contribution: Support the company’s goal of 70% internal promotions by driving structured development and career progression.
* L&D Advocacy: Stay up to date with industry trends, champion learning initiatives, and foster a growth-oriented culture across operations.
Qualifications / Certifications / Experiences:
* Learning & Development Qualification: Ideally Level 3 CIPD in Learning & Development or an equivalent certification.
* Psychometric Accreditation: Certification in tools such as StrengthsFinder, MBTI, Insights, Heart styles, or Korn Ferry Leadership (desirable).
* End-to-End Training Expertise: Experience in scoping, designing, facilitating, and evaluating training programs.
* Content Creation & LMS Management: Skilled in designing engaging learning materials and managing a Learning Management System (LMS).
* Technical Proficiency: Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ideally Canva for content creation.
