Terre a Terre is a multi-award-winning, independently owned vegetarian & vegan restaurant, and we are looking for a Sous Chef. This well-established restaurant is at the forefront of vegetarian and vegan dining in the UK, known for serving high-quality, unique dishes, and providing great experience in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, along with expert training in dietary restrictive cooking. The restaurant also offers a range of retail products and operates a successful outside catering business. Menus are fresh, seasonal, and innovative, with high standards throughout.
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. The Sous Chef will be involved in every step of the food preparation process, from planning to cooking to plating, as well as assisting with daily food orders. The ideal candidate can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and is comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Sous Chefs are responsible for preparing recipes according to the highest quality standards and must be able to work well under pressure with short deadlines and occasionally stressful situations.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the head chef in food preparation.
* Be responsible for the kitchen staff.
* Maintain food quality and cleanliness standards.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is functioning properly before each service.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food safety and hygiene.
* Leadership abilities to supervise kitchen staff and manage team dynamics.
* Background in hospitality and restaurant operations.
* Experience in food production and team management.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
