Head Chef - Kingston Upon Thames, London

Aramark UK is looking to hire a hands on and experienced Head Chef to join the team on a full time and permanent basis responsible for all staff and student dining, in addition to a busy schedule of events and hospitality.
You will be part of an exciting new venture at Kingston University which will allow you to develop and grow the team and put your own stamp on things! Kingston University is on a journey to soon become our centre of excellence for our southern universities- be part of this journey!
This is a permanent and full time role which can be based on site at either Penryhn Road KT1 2EE or Kingston Hill KT2 7LB.

A day in the life of a Head Chef:
* Management of a large kitchen with a team of 5-6 Chefs and Assistants
* Ensure tasks are appropriately allocated so teams are fully utilised and food preparation activities are delivered using standard recipes and in line with Aramark brand standards
* Responsible for ensuring efficient execution and delivery of all food line products in line with the daily menu
* Maintain integrity of the standard Aramark food offer, responsible for maintaining food quality and integrity of items at all times
* Accountable for stock flow and rotation of product within the unit
* Overall accountability for the performance of the Food Preparation team, including performance monitoring, record keeping, recruitment and development.
* Lead the team to use best practice Food Production techniques using the Aramark systems and brand standards.
* Handle customer complaints as required
* Maintain communication with all team members and third parties as required e.g. client contacts
* Direct and coach team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks, ensuring all training and development needs are met
* Ensure complete compliance with food safety and health and safety legislation
* Manage incidents, near misses and health & safety issues
You'll be set up for success if you have:
* Experience operating at a Head Chef level
* Previous experience managing and leading a team
* Education/ contract catering experience highly desirable
* A passion for people and food
* Relevant food qualification
