Job Description Purpose of the role To design and implement programmes and initiatives that support the growth and development of the bank’s employees and leaders. Accountabilities Development and implementation of training and development programmes and initiatives, including creation and execution of training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities. Collaboration with HR and hiring managers to analyse the current and future development needs of the organisation. Design and delivery of classroom and digital based training content, programmes and associated User Experience. Management of onboarding programmes including training, onboarding materials, introduction meetings and providing support throughout the onboarding process. Analysis of data and metrics to measure success of talent development programmes and initiatives. Development and implementation of coaching and mentoring programmes, train the trainer programmes for facilitators and relevant educational materials. Develop and implement talent pipelining processes, identifying, managing, progressing and promoting talent capability across the bank with succession management and career progression’. This key role will lead the hiring and development strategy to support the growth of our Wealth Planning proposition, including recruitment and the design, build, and delivery of training for new and existing Wealth Planners and Wealth Managers. A core part of the role is overseeing the Wealth Planning Academy, launched in January to support colleague development and build a sustainable talent pipeline. You’ll be responsible for the ongoing design and implementation of the programme, ensuring colleagues have the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to thrive. You’ll provide strategic leadership across all talent development activity, manage key stakeholders and external partners, and lead a small team. An excellent understanding of advisory roles in financial services, a passion for learning and development, and a commitment to inclusion are essential for success. To be successful as a Head of Talent Development – Mass Affluent you should have experience with: Talent development, training, and coaching – ideally within financial services or a client-facing environment Good programme management skills, with experience delivering complex projects or programmes of work Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities, particularly within a matrixed environment A deep understanding of advisory or client relationship roles and the competencies required for success The ability to analyse training needs and translate them into effective, engaging learning solutions Comfort working at pace and navigating ambiguity in a newly established function Some other highly valued skills may include: Knowledge of learning technologies, platforms, and modern learning methodologies Coaching or L&D-related qualifications Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance in relation to advisory roles You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
