Sous Chef – 4 Hotel – Near Wigan Salary: £34,000 Bonus Hours: 40 per week We’re recruiting for a talented Sous Chef to join the team at a busy 4-star hotel near Wigan, supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality food across both the restaurant and banqueting operations. This is a fantastic role for a passionate and motivated chef looking to step up or continue developing their skills in a fast-paced, fresh food environment with real variety. Key Responsibilities: • Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations across restaurant and events • Help lead and inspire the team to maintain high standards of food quality and consistency • Ensure all dishes are prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients to brand and quality standards • Take a hands-on role in service and prep, maintaining a calm and professional approach • Contribute to menu development and ensure cost-effective use of stock and resources • Maintain kitchen hygiene, food safety, and health & safety procedures About You: • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a quality hotel or banqueting setting • Confident working with fresh food in both à la carte and high-volume service • Strong leadership and communication skills – able to support and motivate the brigade • Good knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and compliance • A creative flair and genuine passion for great food • Team player with a positive, proactive attitude Due to the location, having your own transport is essential.
