As an innovative business of culinary and customer service providers, delivering inspirational food and experiences to a number of fixed sites, high street brands & major sporting events we are seeking to add a highly creative and experienced ‘Senior Sous Chef’ to join our growing team.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in driving culinary excellence, working closely with our esteemed Head Chefs to lead and inspire a talented kitchen brigade. You will be instrumental in delivering exceptional dining experiences across a diverse range of events, from intimate private gatherings to large-scale sporting events and festivals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Menu Development: Collaborate closely with Head Chefs to develop innovative and refined culinary concepts, translating client visions into exquisite menus.
2. Event Planning: Assist Head Chefs with operational planning aspects of each event, including ordering, rota planning, and overall kitchen set up and build.
3. Event Delivery: Oversee the kitchen operation whilst on the event, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising quality in every aspect of food preparation and presentation.
4. Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to large kitchen teams, fostering a collaborative environment, delegating effectively, and ensuring high performance during demanding events.
5. Resource & Cost Management: Manage team hours and product usage to maximise efficiency and minimise waste and control costs.
6. Compliance: Uphold Absolute Taste’s high standards by rigorously reviewing all dishes, conducting kitchen inspections, and implementing quality control processes to ensure compliance with regulations and client expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
1. Proven experience in a senior chef role, ideally within events or catering.
2. Possess experience working in high-end fine dining restaurants or events.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
4. Exceptional menu writing and culinary creativity.
5. Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
6. Proficiency in cost management, budgeting, and food ordering systems.
7. Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
