Are you a hands-on data specialist passionate about turning data into valuable insights? We're looking for a proactive and collaborative Data Engineer to join our growing team and support the development of our Single Customer View (SCV) platform.
In this role, you'll use your technical and analytical expertise to gather, structure, and transform data from source systems, making it accessible, trustworthy, and impactful for analytics users across the business. You'll play a key role in ensuring data quality, building robust pipelines, and supporting our broader data strategy.
This role would be ideal for someone with a background in data analysis who has some hands-on experience in data engineering, who is now looking to deepen their technical skills in a modern, cloud-based data environment. If you've worked with SQL, dabbled in Python, and are eager to move further into areas like data pipelines, cloud platforms, and CI/CD, we'd love to support your development.
This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your experience in data engineering, contribute to meaningful business decisions, and help shape the future of data at Saga.
We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. When you do come into the office, it'll be with a real purpose in mind - to meet with your team, to work together, and of course to socialise and celebrate too!

* Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data sources, usage patterns, and refresh needs, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
* Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using tools such as Snowflake, Talend, and data lake technologies.
* Transform and structure raw data for analytics consumption, ensuring it's clean, reliable, and optimised for performance.
* Ensure data governance and compliance by adhering to InfoSec policies and contributing to data documentation and metadata standards.
* Troubleshoot, test, and monitor data flows, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain platform stability.
* Contribute to delivery planning and project workstreams, advising on data engineering approaches and dependencies.
* Support CI/CD processes using tools like Azure DevOps, helping manage releases and streamline development workflows.
* Promote adoption of the SCV platform, working closely with analytics users and encouraging best practices across the business.
* Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance performance.
* Stay up to date with data trends, sharing knowledge and fostering innovation across the team and wider business.
