Chef/Cook
Barrowhill Hall is looking for a cook / chef to lead a team and help plan and prepare nutritious meals for 45 elderly residents. Experience of cooking in a commercial kitchen is highly desirable, although training will be provided. Experience of preparing meals for the elderly is also desirable, but training will be offered to the right candidate with the right "can do" attitude. Understanding of dysphagia and the IDDSI framework is desirable, but full training will be provided.
Our Food Hygiene certificate is important to us and the successful candidate will demonstrate a desire to help us maintain high standards.
Chef/Cook Responsibilities include:
* preparing good quality, nutritious meals according to the menu plan, including for specialist diets, including puree diet
* reducing waste
* completing written records
* adhering to food hygiene standards
* detailed understanding of allergens
The position is full time with more favourable hours that traditional 'Kitchen' roles. We ask staff members to cover every other weekend all of which is negotialble with the successful candidate.
