A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEETINGS & EVENTS SALES EXECUTIVE AT THE WESTIN LONDON CITY What you'll be doing Reporting to the Groups & Events Manager, you can expect your working day to include the following Responsible for the reactive sales of group bedroom and meetings & events enquiries from initial enquiry to contract handover. Enquiries will be for both corporate and social segments. Communication channels include telephone, e-mail or 3rd party intermediary sites Creating quotations and proposals based on customer requirements, conducts regular follow-up calls to identify changing needs, converts enquiries into confirmed bookings. Inputting enquiries into the relevant booking systems and ensures data integrity. Drafting and issuing groups and events contracts, maintain regular follow up and ensure such booking statuses are changed and aligned in Opera Sales & Catering. Conducting site visits to showcase hotel. Conducting post-event calls to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels and secure repeat business Engaging with hotel Operations Team to ensure client expectations can be met and exceeded. Executing and supporting Marriott’s Customer Service Standards, hotel’s Brand Standards and the operational aspects of business booked. Participating in and practicing daily service basics of the brand. Gaining understanding of the hotel’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the program/event. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements To succeed in the role of Meetings and Events Sales Executive, you will need the following qualities and skills: Communication & interpersonal skills: high standard of written and verbal English is essential with the ability to build long lasting relationships with clients and suppliers. As well as the ability to build strong relationships with leaders, peers and associates in the hotel and wider Marriott network. Sales Skills: efficient problem-solving skills and ability to find solutions. Good presentation, negotiation and selling skills. Collaboration: supporting collaboration with overall Meetings & Events, Operations Department on guest experiences strategies. Legal Understanding: confidence in handling contractual agreements.
