Welcome to The Mill Hotel, a beautifully converted watermill in the quintessential country town of Sudbury, Suffolk.
History and modernity meet here, with soothing, contemporary interiors throughout the hotel and its 62 rooms, complementing the mills original features, among them the waterwheel itself an atmospheric centre-piece in the restaurant and relaxing bar. Within minutes of the hotel, picturesque villages dot some of Englands loveliest countryside in scenes made famous by romantic artist John Constable.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Sous Chefthat has a true passion for great food with a clear focus on presentation and quality service, able to inspire and lead the brigade;
Your responsibilities will include:
Create, prepare, cook and present dishes - running your section, leading section(s) and coordinating service with colleagues
. Mindful of wastage, portions, time efficiencies and working with all departments to ensure smooth service
Supporting Head Chef to lead and mentor less experienced colleagues- Working as team to deliver great food to guests in a timely manner
Flexibility to cook and serve on any section to ensure smooth service- great food, every time!
Following Food Safety, and Health & Hygiene regulations at all times, including clear up and cleanliness of section
About you:
Passionate about food, fantastic ingredients and mouth watering taste combinations
. Determined to deliver the best results, regardless of pressure
A team player, who values input from others and inspires those around you to strive to be better too
Exceptional attention to detail
Willing to share ideas around improving the customers experience- whether that's creating a new sauce or practicing your knife skills!
