Pastry Chef - Ole & Steen Pastry Chef (Night Shift) We are looking for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team on the night shift at our Leyton location. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality cakes, confectionery, tray bakes, and other sweet treats using traditional methods and premium ingredients. From preparation and mixing to baking, piping, and decorating, you will be involved in every step of the pastry process, ensuring our products meet the highest standards. Package: Up to 35.5k per annum A flexible work environment GP helpline Free food and drinks when on shift 50% discount when not working Key Responsibilities: Prepare, bake, pipe, and decorate a variety of pastry products, including cakes, tray bakes, and confectionery. Ensure all products are of the highest quality and consistency. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry section, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards. Work collaboratively with the bakery team to meet production targets and maintain a positive working environment. Operate and maintain pastry kitchen equipment with a focus on efficiency and safety. About you: Qualifications: Food Safety Level 2 (preferred). Formal pastry or confectionery qualifications are advantageous. Experience: 3 years of experience in a pastry or kitchen environment, with exposure to a variety of products, including those made with fresh cream. Skills: Excellent attention to detail, ability to maintain high-quality product standards and cleanliness, and contribute to a positive team environment. Knowledge: Solid understanding of pastry techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices. Comfortable using a variety of tools and equipment in the pastry kitchen. Communication skills: ability to work well under pressure and an accountable and adaptable approach to work. Must be committed to quality with a strong work ethic. Open to feedback and always strive for improvement while maintaining a positive attitude and a "we care and all are welcome" approach. This is a full-time position requiring night and weekend availability, with 45 hours per week across 5 days out of 7.
