Position: Sous chef Location: Hook Pay Rate: £28000 per annum Working hours:7-3.30- normally Mon Tues Thur 7-4.30 Wed - Fri - if evening events7-9 39 weeks a year. About Us: My client is an independent co-ed school located in Hook's scenic countryside. They are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to support our catering team in a lively educational setting. Key Responsibilities: Assist the preparation and service of nutritious meals for approximately 300 pupils and 70 staff members. Support all aspects of kitchen operations, including food purchasing, storage, and hygiene standards. Develop innovative menus and recipes, catering to various dietary requirements. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including allergen management. Support the catering team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Maintain kitchen organization and efficiency, minimizing waste and managing budgets effectively. Qualification Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, preferably in an educational or high-volume setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on nutrition and quality. Excellent leadership and communication abilities. Knowledge of food safety regulations and allergen management. Ability to work collaboratively and manage a diverse team.
