About the Role:
Finatal is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team for a 3-month contract with the potential for extension. As part of our private equity-backed IT services business, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our migration from SQL to Google BigQuery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend engineering, with expertise in data loading, ingestion, and ETL processes from various data sources, such as Salesforce.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement data pipelines for migrating from SQL to Google BigQuery.
* Develop and optimize ETL workflows to integrate data from multiple sources, including Salesforce.
* Write and execute efficient SQL and Python scripts to process, clean, and transform large datasets.
* Utilize API and ETL methods to integrate data into internal back-end systems.
* Create and maintain documentation for data pipeline processes and architecture.
* Support the team in leveraging Google BigQuery for analytics and reporting purposes.
* Work with visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Looker to provide actionable insights.
* Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly to ensure seamless data operations.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in an IT services or private equity-backed environment.
* Strong scripting skills in SQL and Python.
* Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery, including its architecture and advanced features.
* Familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Looker.
* Expertise in developing ETL pipelines and integrating with APIs.
* Knowledge of Salesforce data structures and integration methods is a plus.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
