At FCDO Services we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings and courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we’re on. In our world, it all matters.
The Digital Sensitivity Review service we’ve developed enables the UK’s Government departments to meet the requirements of Public Records legislation by selecting, reviewing and transferring records consistently and securely for permanent preservation at The National Archives. The growth in digital records means the team are embracing the use of AI and other advanced technologies to tackle the complex challenges we face. The work is vital and protects the UK’s relations with other countries, as well as our defence interests, the intelligence services, and the personal data of individuals, all within a legal framework.
Preserving important records
Protecting secure data
Embracing new technologies
It all matters.
Help us remain legally compliant in how we handle FCDO files
As a member of our forward-thinking team, you’ll find plenty of support as you review decisions relating to both digital and paper records. Working alongside the Digital Records Manager, the Head of Sensitivity Review Service Desk and the Senior Sensitivity Reviewer, you’ll oversee the consistency of redaction decisions – and if you think any justifications aren’t in-line with our stringent standards, you’ll see to it that the right measures are taken. We celebrate a friendly culture in which our people know they can grow in their careers, so you’ll take team members on the journey with you, delegating workloads and resources so that customer service levels are consistently exceptional.
We’re always looking to improve the services we’re offering, so you’ll be encouraged to champion the tools and facilities we need to go even further in our work, and implement improved operational methods and procedures. Your work will take you beyond FCDO colleagues, as you’ll also build relationships with the National Archives, IT partners and wider Government Departments as required, so the scope to further your network and establish yourself as a sector expert is unlimited.
Use your information management knowledge to keep our standards exemplary
Whether managing the digitisation of microfiche assets, carrying out quality assurance on the collection and recording of metadata or digitally transferring files, your sharp eye for detail will ensure we’re always compliant with the standards expected of us. You will therefore have an understanding of the value that the Sensitivity Review Service brings to Government, and you will be well-versed in the Public Records Act, Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.
With either a qualification or a background in Records and Information Management, you will have experience in a service delivery area. This will be complemented by a deep knowledge of governance and risk management, and the ability to evaluate data. While line management experience would be beneficial, it’s more important that you have great interpersonal skills and a determination to deliver exceptional customer service.
Take your career to the next level with an unparallelled opportunity
Working with us you’ll help keep people, information, and assets safe around the world. It’s a role you can feel proud of; and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
