The Vacancy
The Stables Restaurant showcases the very best of British produce and our chefs work in partnership with local suppliers to make sure all our menus feature fantastic ingredients from sustainable, regenerative sources, including our own kitchen garden, and taste all the more amazing for it.
In addition to the Restaurant, The Stables serves a lighter menu in the Bar and is home to the Players’ Lounge, a dedicated space where we host corporate golf clients after their time on the course.
The Stables caters for up to 100 covers and is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner so a fast pace and the flexibility to work a variety of shifts is essential.
We are looking for an innovative and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, inspire, and manage the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
* Oversee the creation of a dynamic and seasonal menu, ensuring it aligns with The Grove’s culinary standards and brand identity.
* Maintain a high standard of food quality, presentation, and hygiene in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Manage kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering, and budgeting, to ensure efficient running of the department.
* Foster a positive and productive working environment through training, development, and mentorship of kitchen staff.
* Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
* Monitor food costs and waste to ensure profitability without compromising quality.
* Stay up-to-date with food trends and techniques to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
What We Are Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or in a senior kitchen management role in a high-end restaurant or hotel environment.
* Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
* A passion for quality, seasonal produce and the ability to create innovative menus.
* Exceptional knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
* A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
* Ability to manage budgets, control food costs, and optimize kitchen resources.
* A genuine passion for inspiring and developing others in the kitchen.
