What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint a specialist drama teacher. The successful candidate will be, or if an ECT have the ability to become, an inspirational classroom practitioner and there is a comprehensive induction programme in place to support new staff.
What the school offers its staff
Drama is timetabled, once a fortnight, for all KS3 pupils and is a popular option at KS4. Students have performed consistently well on their BTEC Performing Arts and we offer both courses, Acting and Dance. The drama and dance teachers work closely together to support each other and moderate work. There is a fully resourced drama studio and costume store with an Auditorium that seats over 250 for whole school performances. There is much support for the department demonstrated last year with a whole school performance of Grease led by a member of the English department.
Frederick Gough School has been the most oversubscribed school in North Lincolnshire for the last nine years. Ofsted (Nov 2023) described our school as truly comprehensive where pupils are happy, kind and respectful and where teachers and leaders are proud to work. We genuinely believe in education being the key to ensuring a successful society for the future and would ask that you read our curriculum intent on our website as well as other key documents to get a feel of what we are about. We are proud of our values and positive culture and have attached some of the additional benefits of being part of the Fred Gough Family. This includes a staff wellbeing package through the School’s Advisory Service.
