Azure Data Engineer
Duration - 6 Months
Day Rate - £400 a day (Inside IR35)
Location – Mostly remote with 1 or 2 days a month in Manchester
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Data Engineer to contribute to the creation of a new data warehouse using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric. Working closely with the Data and Reporting team, you'll help build a new data warehouse that enhances data-driven decision-making and supports our organisation's growth.
This role will involve designing and developing a new data warehouse and data pipelines, integrating data sources, and ensuring data quality and governance. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain a robust Data Warehouse, optimising it for performance and scalability.
* Design and build data pipelines to connect various data sources such as APIs, files, and databases to the Data Platform.
* Manage end-to-end ETL/ELT processes, including a dimensionally modelled semantic layer.
* Define and enforce data quality measures within pipelines to ensure data integrity.
* Set up monitoring and alerting systems for data solutions.
* Create and manage CI/CD pipelines for the Data Platform.
* Translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Work within an Agile Kanban framework, handling code, reviews, tests, and deployment through source control.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Strong experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem tools, specifically Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Azure SQL.
* Solid understanding of ETL tools and methods.
* Experience in CI/CD practices for data solutions.
* Experience with Microsoft Fabric is beneficial.
* Familiarity with Salesforce or Workday is a plus.
Contract Details:
* Rate: £400-£425 per day, Inside IR35
* Location: Mostly remote, with occasional travel to Manchester
