JOB DESCRIPTION LINCOLNSHIRE, IL JOB TITLE: AM RESTAURANT SUPERVISOR DEPARTMENT: FOOD & BEVERAGE REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF RESTAURANTS ISSUE DATE: JANUARY 1, 2017 Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00 Full Time Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision Life Insurance Health Savings Account Flex Spending Account Voluntary Benefits Plans 401(k) & Company Match Employee Discount Paid Time Off - Sick and Vacation PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS The Restaurant Supervisor’s main goal is to promote and ensure guest satisfaction, in the food and beverage outlets and licensed Starbucks store achieved through their ability to develop and maintain a strong team environment, placing emphasis on employee satisfaction and delivery of prompt, courteous, correct service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): Assume responsibility of daily operation of the restaurant(s), in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Lead team to uphold and maintain all Starbucks, Marriott and Bricton Brand Standards Increase sales through effective marketing and merchandising of products in Starbucks. Assist in supervision and direction of department personnel to ensure quality customer service. Delegate job assignments and responsibilities to associates in accordance with duty rosters. Assists purchasing agent in ordering and maintaining stock and supplies, monitors conditions and appearance of same throughout Starbucks. Monitor code dates and product rotation, removes out of code product. Holds personnel in department accountable for their job assignments and responsibilities. Assist customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales (as applicable). Maintain customer service area and equipment in a clean and appealing manner. Welcome and assist guests in accordance with Marriott, Starbucks and Company Policies Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Day. Must execute and adhere to all Starbucks programs, policies and promotions (i.e. Customer Voice, Siren’s Eye, etc.) Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow at each station. Perform cleaning tasks in accordance with cleaning standards and work as a store team player. Present one’s self professionally and demonstrate clear communication with all customer and partner interactions. Perform equipment maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance checklist. Follow cash handling and register policies. Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines. Able to effectively communicate with customers and associates, foster a productive relationship with your Starbucks DM, following-up on key takeaways from their time in your store Adhere to company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, sanitation, and maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination. Perform any and all duties as assigned. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation Perform monthly product inventory SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position directly supervises the following positions, in the absence of the Director of Restaurants and the Restaurant Manager, while managing labor hours as needed: Server Staff Dining Room Hosts Baristas Bussers QUALIFICATIONS Ability to manage and direct staff. Ability to handle multiple customer and operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, operating often with time sensitive deadlines. Ability to operate independently and with a high degree of autonomy requiring excellent time management skills and self-motivation. Hotel product and industry knowledge, i.e., staffing, operations, safety, security, structural, terminology, fire, police and health codes, hotel policies, city ordinances. Proficiency in the use and operation of computer systems with the ability to navigate efficiently through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Micros. Ability to read, write and speak the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, proposals, general correspondence and similar written materials. Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction. Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods. Ability to obtain Starbucks training certifications EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE At least one year of experience at a supervisor level in guest contact areas of the hospitality industry is required. Hotel experience preferred. Minimum one year previous serving experience is required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amount such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Must be able to make appropriate judgments regarding the solving of practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
