Workplace description: This 4 star 2 AA Rosette hotel and restaurant serves a fine menu using local produce. Set in the Lake District, it offers a 9-hole pitch and putt golf course, a croquet lawn and 3 private jetties.
As a Junior Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of our kitchen department. Your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work within required deadlines will be vital in maintaining our company standards and delivering innovative and delectable cuisine.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, adhering to all relevant regulations.
Support the development and training of kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Assist with inventory management and ordering to ensure efficient stock control and minimise wastage.
Essential criteria:
Knowledge of ingredients and the ability to use them in a creative way
Belief in being a team player
Excellent time management skills
Previous experience of working in busy kitchen
