Restaurant Supervisor – The Folly
Location: THE PIG – at Combe, Honiton, Devon
Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week with overtime available as/when required.
OTE £14 per hour, including tronc.
We are currently looking for a Restaurant Supervisor to support the day-to-day operation of The Folly – our derelict, chic hideaway, open for all year-round dining and events. We love nothing more than gathering people together to share stories and laughter over platefuls of delicious homegrown food. The Folly’s flagstone terrace offers incredible views and is our largest and most popular space for both PIG events and private gatherings including standing events where we welcome up to 40 guests.
As Restaurant Supervisor, you will be the beating heart of The Folly’s service. Expect a combination of laid-back lunches to lively music nights. You will create an exciting work atmosphere with a culture focused on family, fun, and community. You will be responsible for ‘Bringing it together’ and helping to lead and drive the daily operations of The Folly.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Maintaining high standards of customer service.
* Ensuring all food handling and safety measures are met and compliant.
* Expressing passion towards working with fresh produce & local drinks.
* Working on the floor, supporting Waiting Staff with taking orders and serving guests.
* Maintaining The Folly’s cleanliness, ensuring The Folly is always well-presented.
* Leading by example, encouraging Waiting Staff to develop their skills & hone their craft.
* Continuing to develop knowledge of food, ensuring menu briefings are detailed.
* Updating menus online and managing the reservation system.
* Running private events and live music nights.
Experience Required:
* Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or similar role within a fast-paced restaurant.
* Events experience desirable.
* Proven leadership skills.
* Previous experience working with locally sourced produce or a daily changing menu preferred but not essential.
* Qualification in hospitality beneficial, including WSET wine and spirits.
