The ideal candidate will be: A qualified teacher (holding QTS or equivalent). Experienced in teaching Drama at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Experience teaching Key Stage 5 (A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies, BTEC Performing Arts, or similar) is desirable but not essential. Passionate about Drama and theatre, and able to inspire students of all abilities. An excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills. Committed to raising student achievement and fostering confidence, creativity, and communication skills. A collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community, including extra-curricular Drama activities. Dedicated to their own professional development. A creative Drama Teacher Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Drama lessons across the relevant Key Stages. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback, both written and through practical performance work. Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress. Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Performing Arts department and across the school. Contribute to the development and delivery of extra-curricular Drama activities, such as school productions, drama clubs, and workshops. Direct and/or support school performances. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress. Ensure health and safety.
