We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of a Sous Chef.
Location: Swadlincote DE
Role and Key Responsibilities
1. Leading kitchen team in chef's absence
2. Overseeing and organising kitchen stock and ingredients
3. Supervising all food preparation
4. Working with our Head Chef in maintaining kitchen organisation
5. Assisting Head Chef with menu creation
6. Managing the kitchen aspect and kitchen team for off-site functions, weddings, and events ensuring food is prepared, cooked, and delivered to a very high standard as per the chosen menu requirements
Minimum Requirements
1. Hold a full driving license (maximum of 3 points)
2. Previous experience within the hospitality industry as a Sous Chef
3. Demonstrable knowledge in the following areas:
1. Occupational Health and Safety Act
2. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS)
3. Federal and Provincial regulations on food handling and serving
4. FIFO (First In, First Out) Food Storage procedures
5. Sanitation and Food Safety
6. Food Preparation / Presentation
7. Menu Management
8. Use of Wines, Liquors and Spirits in cooking
9. Allergens legislation

Hours per week (variable hours on a rota basis)
