Our state-of-the-art production kitchen is at the heart of our operation, and we are looking for an experienced, dynamic Head Chef to lead and elevate our kitchen team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Head Chef to oversee all kitchen operations in our large-scale production facility. As an Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day production of meals, ensuring consistent quality, maintaining efficiency, and overseeing a large team of kitchen staff. Your leadership will ensure that every meal meets our high standards while adhering to food safety regulations and company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage all kitchen staff ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
* Be flexible and adaptable as the company is constantly expanding and positively changing so need you to move with it!
* Develop and implement high-volume production systems to ensure food is prepared and delivered on time without compromising quality.
* Collaborate with the operations & culinary team to order ingredients and manage inventory for large-scale production.
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and organization in the kitchen.
* Create, develop, and adapt recipes for large-scale production while maintaining flavour, texture, and presentation.
* Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, ensuring consistency across all dishes.
* Monitor food quality throughout production to ensure it meets health and safety standards, as well as customer expectations.
* Track kitchen costs, including food, labour, and waste, to ensure cost-effective production and adherence to budgets.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, creativity, and efficiency.
* Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and developing opportunities for staff growth.
* Stay current on industry trends, techniques, and safety standards to ensure the kitchen remains innovative and compliant.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
What we need from you:
* Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume production kitchen or large scale cooking.
* Strong knowledge of food production, large-scale meal planning, and recipe development.
* Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a large team.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* In-depth understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP and local health codes.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments.
* Budgeting and cost control experience in a large-scale kitchen environment.
* A passion for food and creativity, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality.
